Clampdown on Dangerous Dogs // April 25th, 2012 // Constituency News
As you may be aware the Government has set out its approach to tackling irresponsible dog owners. http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/2012/04/23/clampdown-on-dangerous-dogs/
Claire Robinson, RSPCA Government Relations Manager has set out the RSPCA concerns about the proposals.
“In short the RSPCA feels the proposals ‘lack bite’ and are a real missed opportunity. Indeed the majority of other organisations appeared to have similar responses. http://www.rspca.org.uk/media/news/story/-/article/Dog_ownerhip_April12
While the extension of the law to cover private property is a small step forward, the fact there is no preventative measures means that people and animals will remain at risk.”
Gisela said:
“The RSPCA have put up some thoughts about the proposals on their Political Animal Website. I hope that local residents will join in the debate.”
