Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week // June 25th, 2010 // Constituency News
Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week runs from the 28 June to 2 July, 2010.
More than 13,000 schools and 5 million young people are set to take part in Britain’s biggest school sporting event - Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week. Run in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, the week builds on the excitement and anticipation of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire millions of children to increase the amount of PE and sport they take part in each week.
Across the country schools and School Sport Partnerships - groups of schools working together to co-ordinate PE and sport opportunities for all young people - will be holding opening and closing ceremonies, inviting local clubs to come in and give taster sessions in a variety of Olympic and Paralympic sports and organising inter and intra school competitions and other local activity to promote and celebrate PE and sport in school. As part of the national programme, Lloyds TSB Local Heroes, British Olympians and Paralympians, and Lloyds TSB staff will also be visiting a number of schools during the week to help celebrate schools’ achievements and present awards.
To find a list of participating schools, visit www.schoolsportweek.org/hasyourschool.aspx, put in your postcode.
