Optima Fun Day Highlights Financial Support // September 10th, 2010 // Constituency News
Gisela attended the recent Optima Advice and Fun Day, held for residents living on the five estates of Attwood Green, Benmore, Woodview, Fiveways, Lee Bank and the Sentinel blocks.
The event, held in Moonlit Park, included children’s activities and advice stands.
Gisela said:
”Of particular interest were the details about the local credit union.
There is the constant danger of loan sharks taking advantage of vulnerable people and charging exorbitant interest rates. This credit union is owned and run by its members, who all have a say in providing competitive rates on saving accounts, loans and Christmas saving clubs to local people.”
The Birmingham Inner Circle Community CU Ltd is a credit union banking service, developed for the people living and working in Birmingham’s inner city.
This credit union was established in 1987. Registered at Ladywood Community & Health Centre, the CU holds regular banking sessions for local people at venues around the estate. For details please ring 0121 454 0534.
