What’s Your BIG Idea? // July 13th, 2010 // Constituency News
You know that when push comes to shove, I fight for you.
With a coalition Government that’s more important than ever. With every decision I will first ask, “What’s right for the people here in the constituency.”
I am conducting a survey to find out what you want to see improved in your local area. Many of you may have already received a card from Team Gisela asking for your views on what changes you would like to see in the area over the next few years, or to tell me why you wouldn’t change anything!.
Today I have launched the survey onto this website. Please do let me know what your concerns and priorities are for the area.

I have been speaking to traders and the local public about the proposed loss of parking in Harborne and have collected many signatures opposed to the possible loss of parking. We have traded for 23 years in Harborne , and employ 30 staff , and I ask that do the workers who have parked for so long not have any rights ? Where will people who work 8 hours or more park? Harborne Parish own the land not Hare Hatch Developments, and I believe councillers on the Parish committee would have a conflict of interest if their influence was used, also when the Ist application was approved, why did it not go to the ward committee to be heard, and discussed ?All coucillors said they opposed it ? Nick Fairlie is a Director or was of Maybe developments which has a long leasehold agreement with Harborne Parish for the car park, he is also a Director of Hare Hatch Developments , which would explain why the car park has been allowed to be run down and no lighting, obviously more money to be made from housing at the expense of the patrons of Harborne. Also I believe that planning was led to believe that Iceland only use Transit vans to deliver not articulated lorries twice a day , plus deliveries to resturants!
I would have thought to have contacted a new professional car park company would have been the right way forward , as if the Attwood House development goes ahead we will have 90 plus flats and also with the Q.E. I feel the need for parking is even more important, and Harborne High Street is a shopping centre not a housing estate.
Please please Help, as I worry for our business if parking gets harder I believe people will go where it is easier , when businesses and people go under , the Developers wont mind about Harborne, they will be counting their money, but I feel all persons who make this decision must be publically accountable ,good or bad, for listening or not to the people of Harborne..
I have copies of the petitions signed so far ,which address should I send these to ? Adrian Taylor SUYO. Please Help !
